Material languages

Material Languages is an artistic research project exploring emergent materials revealing a vast range of possibilities and varied qualities derived from waste transformed within a domestic laboratory. By questioning the concept of waste, the project engages with the idea of ´alchemy´—turning these experimental materials into an infinite catalogue that can be activated both symbolically and functionally. This ecosystem of pieces is curated with attention to hardness, fragility, flexibility, transparency, density, and even error, resulting in a playful catalogue that expresses these material qualities through visual and tactile registers. The idea of a catalogue opens up the opportunity to reveal ‘something’ that perhaps could not have been shown otherwise
